The National Endowment for Financial Education® (NEFE®), is an independent nonprofit organization committed to educating Americans about personal finance and empowering them to make positive and sound decisions to reach financial goals. The NEFE Teen Resource Bureau (NTRB) is a Web site designed to provide young people with information about basic personal finance concepts, as well as practical money-management tips on a variety of topics.
The CARE Program is excited to have been authorized to provide this link to the NTRB, which provides a full range of excellent information to improve young people’s Financial I.Q.
- Student Credit Card Debt - YOUNG MONEY magazine and Youngmoney.com offer articles, books, and advice how to avoid debt and build credit, and understanding your credit report and credit score.
- Service Learning Project - In December 2004, students at Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York, completed a Service Learning Project in association with the CARE Program. The students did a comprehensive review of the many financial information links on the Internet and recommended a number of them for inclusion on the CARE Program’s “Credit Information” link as ones that they felt would be most useful to students and young adults.
